International Womens Day at Rockhampton Saloon Car Club

INTERNATIONAL WOMENS DAY 2022

Today is International Women’s Day
 
This year’s theme is breaking the bias – fitting for our previously male-dominated environment. It is so amazing to see so many women involved in Speedway now – young girls and women who race and help in the pits right through to our committees and officials.
 
Shout out to Gertrude our Grader and Wilma our water truck who have spent the whole day at the track helping create something exciting 😉
The final tally is in!
 
McCosker Rocky Speedway Secretary Jess, attended CQ Breast Screen today to visit Roxanne and her team to present a HUGE cheque for EIGHT THOUSAND DOLLARS!
 
That’s right – with your generosity, we were able to get a huge donation of $8000 which is going to stay local and support our local women. The plan is to provide funds to create better clinical storage and improve the comfort for ladies visiting the breast clinic in what can be such a scary time.
 
We couldn’t possibly be any prouder of the effort put in for this meeting! Thank you everyone for your donations – we couldn’t have done it without you!
