Fast Lane Rocky Speedway is centrally located at the Rockhampton Showgrounds, approximately 1.5 kilometres from Rockhampton’s main post office. The showgrounds have been home to speedway racing since motorcycles first raced the circuit in November 1925 and were among the early venues to stage racing under lights.
The Rockhampton Showgrounds later underwent a $6 million refurbishment and capital upgrade. The speedway pits formed a major part of this work, including underground power, transformer upgrades, lighting, power and water facilities, and bitumen roads connecting the pits to the racing circuit.
Fast Lane Rocky Speedway is managed and operated by the Rockhampton Saloon Car Club Inc.
